The I-35W Alliance supports BRT system implementation in the I-35 W and Cedar Avenue corridors. Studies recommend express and limited stop service in these corridors.

I-35W and Cedar Avenue carry the highest percentage of actual transit trips into Minneapolis –over 15,000 per day.

Seventy five percent of trips occur in peak hours –when traffic demand is greatest.

Eighty two buses in a.m. peak-hour, over 3,000 passengers –equivalent to 1.15 freeway lanes.

Bus Rapid Transit supports Met Council’s goal of increasing ridershipby 50 percent in 2020 and 100 percent by 2030.
